An ideal corporate gift, or for anyone who appreciates a clean, timeless design. Features quartz movement. Imported. 6Hx6-1/2Wx1-5/8D". .com This impressive 6-inch-tall table clock is part of Waterford's Metropolitan series. Though Waterford has been making renowned crystal pieces for more than 200 years and is famous for timeless classic designs, these pieces clearly have an architecturally modern, art-deco flair. The Metropolitan design features clean, rectangular lines and fields of unblemished crystal. This large, upright table clock recalls the shape and form of the entrance of a grand public building, with a base made of three step-like shelves and side borders of telescoping rectangular slabs. Aside from the angular contours, the crystal is unadorned, emphasizing its startling clarity. The 2-3/4-inch round clock is inset into the central panel. It indicates the time with slender black hour, minute, and second hands and black Roman numerals in an elongated typeface. Other matching pieces in the Metropolitan series include a 5-by-7-inch picture frame and a pedestal bowl, as well as two other sizes of table clock. To preserve its clarity, remove the timepiece and wash the clock's crystal body with a mild liquid soap and warm (not hot) water; do not wash in dishwasher as this may permanently etch surface of crystal. Certain water may leave a lime or mineral deposit on the crystal; if that happens, vinegar on a soft, nonabrasive cloth will help remove the deposit. Polish with a lint-free cloth. Crystal can focus sunlight into a concentrated beam that could potentially scorch rugs or furniture, so do not store or display in direct sunlight. The clock measures 6 by 6-1/2 inches and the clock face is 2-3/4 inches in diameter. One 395-type battery is included, as are instructions for activating the clock. --Garland Withers
