Useful information that could use some editing
Pros:- It has useful information in it- Given my admittedly limited prior knowledge it seems to be accurate.- It was free today.Deltas:- I feel it could benefit from some editing; really just basic things such as punctuation, grammar, and spelling that were distracting along the way. It could probably benefit even more so from whittling away parts that I see as simply adding bulk to the body without adding useful information.- It would be really helpful for me to as I go to plan and diagram my garden if I had a companion table offering the information more succinctly. This is one of my biggest requests. Make it a standalone and therefore printable page.- I would request that you provide links to other more thorough sources for the final two topics briefly covered in the book, those being raised bed gardening and composting. There are a few basics in this book, but those parts could benefit either from being a bit more fleshed out or a good paring down and provided links. Either way they left me wanting.Overall, thank you for taking the time to write this and offer it for all to use. I try to write reviews as if I were talking about a real person who put real time and effort into this because that is, of course, what happened.

Good info about gardening
Companion Planting: the vegetable gardens guideWhat I like about this book are the charts and examples of what flowers/herbs will grow well with vegetables and why. Also like composting diagrams and finding out how long it will actually take to break down. Also tells you which vegetables to grow on south side of the garden and benefits of having a raised garden. Also has charts of what NOT to put near another. So much more information inside depending on what it is you are specifically looking for.

Only 24 pages on companion planting
If you are interested in companion planting you should know that this books has a total of 24 pages on companion planting. The rest of the book is contains information on time history companion planting, why companion planting is good, information about raised beds, container gardening, planting zones, composting. I bought the book when it was 0.99 and that was a fair price for the amount of information it has. As I am posting this review it feels that the price is too high for the fairly lightweight amount of information it contains.Ali Julia review

Good info but desperately needs an editor!
I'm giving two stars because the content was good, but WOW there were so many grammatical errors that it was extremely distracting and unfortunately made the book seem very unprofessional. From extraneous apostrophes, to switching back and forth between British and American spelling, to the misuse of "who's" instead of "whose," to random words that were unnecessarily capitalized, to subject/verb tense issues, this book desperately needs an editor. The author's strengths definitely are in the subject matter. I found the chart of which plants pair well with others to be particularly helpful. This book could be so much better than it is with just a little help. Mr. Paris, ask a middle school English teacher to have a quick go at it and release an edited version. I would come back and change my rating!

Simple yet informative
With Spring quickly approaching I am looking for ideas on what to plant in a small area. This book has given me a few ideas! It contained information on what plants work best with each other. (ex. Planting corn and beans together so the beans use the corn stalk for support). Quick read that I am sure I will be referring back to soon

Good reference
I found this to be a very good resource for what to plant next to each other in your garden to make your vegetables grow better and bigger and to deter pests. I had found most books sticking with the usual marigolds and nasturtium info and adding nothing I didn't already know. However this one gave me much more including what vegetables to plant together and why. There is also a section on composting, as well as container and raised bed gardening.

Easy Read for ref
Pleased with this book it dose not go into great depth but is easy to navigate and well laid out easy to find what should be planted with what and which plants don't do well together this is really valuable. Like all things on this subject you do not get told the ratio of plants... The cover picture is perhaps a clue? So maybe you have to 'hide' your crop in the middle of the companion plants?Anyway a good book well worth having anyone wanting to work with their garden instead of using sprays etc.
