Works Great
Needed a plug. This thing does what it's supposed to. (cheap replacement for a drain plug I lost)This has the right size and threads and gasket to seal onto vacuum perfectly, and the other end is the "male end" of the hose bib.. so you can connect to a female end of a hose bib onto it. (yes, it's water tight)IN Case you've tried like me, you found out this is a proprietary size and thread so you can't just use one from another Shop Vac. (only replacement i could find.)

Doesn't fit Craftsman 16 gallon
No complaints about actual part. It does not fit a Craftsman 16 gallon shopvac. This part was no longer available at craftsman, I was hoping this would fit. It does not.

Fits fine, but drains slow
This fits the Dewalt 9-gallon wet/dry vacuum perfectly. However, the hole in the adaptor is smaller than a standard garden hose so it constricts the flow.

Handy adaptor
Very useful if you're doing alot of work around water. Use it mostly on cleaning a fountain after using a pump to empty it still has several gallons of water left alot easier to run a short hose from it then having to move 20ft to dump then back and repeat.

Handy Adaptor
The DeWalt Wet/Dry vacuum is super powerful, and when my basement flooded, it cleaned up the mess very quickly. I had to resort to a vacuum, because the sump pump I had was not powerful enough to force the water through a hose up a flight of stairs. But the DeWalt easily powered the water through the hose, up the flight of stairs to the outside. I'm very happy with this handy Vac!

Not a universal fit.
I was super eager to use this drain hose adapter. Unfortunately, it did not fit the Shop-Vac brand wet-dry vacuum I was using. That may be my mistake not realizing this is not a universal size. I am confident in my Dewalt tools and have many; sadly I'm lacking the wet dry tool so this product did not help me out. I'll need to return it. Sorry about the lone stars, I wasn't sure how to rate it. I'd rather have been able to choose a box stating not applicable because I am unable to asses it.

Amazon came through
I called DeWalt they said they don't sell drain cap replacement parts so they referred me to Alton industries and they said yeah it's $9 plus $5 shipping and I was like well I can't find the replacement anywhere not even on Amazon but lo and behold this weird looking thing is a perfect substitute for my missing drain cap! So amazing. It fits, and if I want to attach a hose I can do it but I probably won't, and only $6 free shipping, you know the good deal when you see it. Buy this thing!!
