Complete Review - Outstanding Grow Light
I. The Mars-Hydro TSW2000 arrived well-packaged absent any damage. I have heard growers report their lights arrived dented or bent, and I believe them. For this particular line of LED lights the manufacturers decided to use a thin metal for the reflector as I'm sure this allowed them to cut costs without sacrificing the light's efficacy. My light, however, arrived with its vulnerable edges protected by rigid Styrophoam. My light came with a timer, which would have been extremely welcome had I not already owned one from prior grows, as well as a pair of ratchet hangers. It's always nice to have a fresh pair of hangers since they seem to be universally made from crappy alloy, which rust after one or two grows. The assembly instructions were unclear. At first, I was a little dismayed to see the instructions did not have a step-by-step breakdown. It was basically three illustrated panels with almost no annotations. Fortunately, this is not rebuilding a jet engine. If you just sit back and study the parts for a few minutes you'll realize there aren't too many ways it can go together wrong, but you'll want to pay attention to how you orient the drivers for optimal cable management. Once the new light was installed and turned on to full power, it filled my 3x3 tent with a nearly blinding level of light. This is obviously a meaningless way to judge the efficacy of a light, but nonetheless I was glad it worked and wasn't DOA. My Equipment: 1. 3x3 grow tent 2. Mars Hydro TSW2000 3. 4" 190CFM Exhaust Fan w/ charcoal filter 3. 4L Humidifier 4. (2) 6" clip fans 5. Four 3-gallon nursery pots (sturdy pro-cal type, might even be pro-cal brand) I drill extra holes in the bottom FYI. 6. Digital light timer II. Some additional info for grow enthusiasts: 1. I direct sowed into 3-gallon pots* and used no seed starter or rooting solutions. 2. Seeds planted are a 3-pack of Blue Dream Autos and my last Gorilla Glue Auto seed. I only water the immediate area over and around the seed, wait for it to almost dry up, and then gently water again. All four girls popped by the end of the 4th day. I am 20/20 sprouting seeds in this fashion. Finally, and very importantly, during the seedling stage I set the light at 75% and kept the light 30" above the pots. Any lower or any stronger and they would have suffered heat stress. *Pro-Cal pots with four extra holes drilled through the bottoms for additional drainage. Soil Used: 75% Roots Organic Original, 25% Coco. I find that Roots Organic Original already has enough perlite. I'll add to this review once the plants are leafed out some. III. I am currently mid-way through veg and all four plants are doing very well. I can now confirm that this light is quite strong, and is more than what vegging plants need in a 3x3 tent. At 24" and 100% power the tent climbed into the mid-80's (it's very hot where I live right now, even in the basement, so my extraction fan was a little overwhelmed I think). To remedy this I lowered the power back to 75% and the plants seem to prefer it. I had edge curling on the leaves of one of my plants before backing off the brightness, but that has ceased. At this hanging distance and power level there is zero stretching and their growth has continued unabated. I'll update this review during flower, and again, one last time, to report yield. IV. Plants are now in mid flower and have stopped the pre-flower/early flower stretch. I still consider myself only a late-beginner/intermediate grower, having only grown 20 plants so far, including these, but so far these plants have the best internodal spacing of the plants I've grown. Up until now I've used only two different burple brands--and they've worked--but they tend to invite stretching because their wattage and spectrums were not ideal. If anything, these lights are inhibitory for stretching because they include plenty of blue light and at least in my case, for my current phenos, the light is strong enough so the plants don't want to get closer than they have to. This has made for some pretty compact budding sites. I'm excited to see what the colas will look like in another few weeks. The TSW2000 is obviously strong, and provides a nice, bright sun-like spectrum. I believe it will prove out to be an ideal 3x3 tent light, as it is clear now it would have completely flowered all 9 square feet of my tent if I had added a 5th 3-gallon pot, which I plan on doing next time for sure. How big will the buds be? How much will its dry weight end up being? Only time will tell! I'll add a final section to this review once it's all chopped, dried and weighed. V. My four plants have been chopped, dried and cured. The yield of each plant was fairly uniform around 2-2.5oz. Total yield was 9.6oz of buds. Popcorn buds would push it to 11 most likely. The Blue Dream'atic potency was subjectively believed, by two different heavy cannabis users, as slightly stronger than the Gorilla Glue Auto, but both were considered quite potent. I barely smoke so of course both were quite strong to me. I generally only do edibles. Conclusion: This light is more than adequate for the home cannabis grower, and an excellent upgrade for anyone currently using old-school burples or other lesser grow lights.

Great Quantum Board LED Light - Seems Better than Standard LEDs
I have had this light for about two weeks now. The light appears well made and comes with the normal hardware for hanging plus a timer and temp/humidity sensor. I would have preferred those to be an option since I have them already and suspect most growers do as well. For first time growers it's a nice package deal. I have six 3-4 week old plants under it at about 18" and four under a 1500 watt LED and there is a noticeable difference in growth on the plants under the Mars Hydro. I recently purchased a PAR meter and my measurements show an average 20-30% PPFD increase over what I was getting with two 1500 watt LEDs over the same plants at a reduction of close to 150 watts power consumptipon. And the overall coverage is better too. It also generates much less heat than the other LED lights and the silent operation is nice too although the noise was not really an issue for me, but not having fans that can break is a plus. I am considering purchasing another one, but might wait to see how this grow turns out. I am curious to see how well it does in the flowering phase. It is a very energy efficient light over traditional LEDs producing more light for less wattage, which I verified with a new watt meter I recently purchased. However, that is not the reason I purchased this light. That said, I have seen some reviews that suggest the standard two and three chip LEDs are still superior overall to Quantum Board LEDs and if energy saving is not a concern, they are still the way to go. The numbers don't show that to be the case based on my measurements and results so far, so I guess I will know if this is correct about three months from now. It came pretty well packaged in a sturdy box with some wood to provide added support. I did have an issue with one of the drivers not dimming properly and contacted support. They were very responsive and are shipping me a new driver, although I have to wait a month as they are currently out of stock, but they did give me a $10 discount for the inconvenience, which was cool. My initial impression is these lights are better in many ways to standard LEDs and are a very affordable alternative. I am guessing Quantum Board LEDs will likely replace standard LEDs over time. I will know more in a few months and may update this review. If all goes well I will be transitioning to all Quantum Board LEDs. Just not sure yet if they will all be Mars Hydro lights. For now, I can recommend the Mars Hydro TSL series lights without hesitation. Good choice for a first time grower too since you get a lot of bang for your buck. Update Jan 27th Just completed my grow with two of the Mars Hydro lights. Very impressive growth with the new lights. So much so it caught me off guard how much the plants stretched when the light cycle was moved to 12/12. I was not prepared and could have done a lot more bending. I ended up with some light burn trying to get the light at the optimum height. Also, I had two plants under one of these lights and it was just too much light for one plant making it difficult to take advantage of the light output. The next grow I will be using the light with one plant and do a better job mainlining to get more yield from the light. That said, the yield I did get was pretty amazing. Very dense and frosty buds for sure. So some lessons learned. My plan now is two purchase two more of the TSW2000 model which will work better in one area of my room over one plant. That will give me a total of four Mars Hydro lights eliminating all of the standard LEDs I have, yet consuming a lot less power. About 1200 watts versus in excess of 2000w with the Mars Hydro's and standard LEDs. I am pretty jacked about the next grow and can say for sure these lights are worth the money - they will pay for themselves over time compared to standard LEDs and that is fact based on real data. Highly recommended - you will not be disappointed with the purchase of these lights.

A proven product
It is 3 years old but my TSW2000 continues to grow excellent cannabis. I stagger the timing and can grow up to three auto flowers under it with consistently great results. When it finally fails I’ll gladly putchase another one 5/5

Nice light but busted up during shipping.
I like the light very much. It was damaged during shipping, but it still works so I kept it. Why do shippers have to be so unprofessional???

Very good light for the price (update 4/25/21)
I just received my Mars hydro light. I'm not always one to write reviews, but these guys deserved one. And my previous light was a king LED 1200 w, which used a lot of the reds and blues. I have been looking for a higher wattage light because I have been having low performance on my last few grows. I put this light in yesterday in the afternoon on the 11th of February. I checked it this morning on the 12th of February, it's like a switch was flipped on the tomato plant. I only wish I had it before a picture. In the one I showed I had to tuck more branches under the SCROG netting. Because they had moved so high they were getting closer to the light. It runs a little warmer and then the King LED. And the surfaces of it can get, I wouldn't say hot, but warmer than warm to the touch. My only gripe is that it seems to be a little weighted to one side. When I put it in my tent it leaned a bit in one direction. As far as I can tell it's that the third box which is the dimmer switch, and daisy chain box. It's on only one side of the light, it doesn't carry a lot of weight, but it appears to be just enough to make the light tilt. I fixed it very simply by using a small plastic box and adding weight to it, I rested it on top of the light, and it seems to work well. Simple solution. All in all the light is awesome, I can't speak to its longevity, I only just got it, but very impressed at the start. UPDATE I thought I would add an update to my review. It's now the end of August 2021, the light is still running strong. Still works exactly as it did. It's holding up perfectly, have not had one issue yet. Plants grow amazingly well under it. You can also put the light nearly right on top of the plant and it will not burn it. Granted you got to have good ventilation. I'm sure an obvious question people have, I was able to grow fruit that was incredibly dense, and very high in potency. I knew some purists who are very good at what they do, and they did not think an LED could stand up to HPS, and even they were impressed by the final result.

Major light output with minimal heat at an easily affordable cost!
Mars Hydros lights are working exceptionally well for my garden and I! I love the fact that you can tell how well the plants thrive under their light compared to flourescents I have used. I am also very pleased with the design of the light as it is very efficient in the light output and area light saturation. The suggestion for using a fan works perfectly as it keeps the lights very cool. I love the capability to dim the lights to the intensity you want as well. This dimming option allows your light to be the right intensity in all stages of growing and is an exceptional option to have! The ability to dim was one of the buying points, which brings me to how much I enjoy the "daisy-chaining" capability! It's nice to know your lights are all set equally the same. I was actually so pleased with the exceptional quality and design, that I talked myself into purchasing another model, the TSL-2000. I can literally say that, I've never seen anything more magnificent! As before mentioned, I love the "daisy- chaining" functionality! In conclusion, I would greatly recommend your products! I enjoy both the TS-1000 and the TSL-2000 that your company has created, as do my plants! They both carry efficiency on not only cost but light output as well! I also greatly appreciate the suggestions on hanging distance, cal-mag supplementation and climate information. I only hope to one day enjoy the experience of your more expensive models for helping create the beauty of life that we know as plants! There's a BIG difference between just growing plants and growing plants with something seemingly extraordinarily from out of this world!

Low heat, high intensity, great customer satisfaction
I researched full spectrum lights for a long time before settling on Mars Hydro. First and foremost I must say that the light I purchased supposed to have been used. However, to make a long story short Mars had listed the light wrongly since the used light was an older model without the intensity knob under the ad for the one with it. At first they suggested I took the one without, but I refused. They later suggested a $20 hike in price for one with the knob, and I also refused. But this was no problem for Mars. They sent me a brand new light!!! And this showed me Mars Hydro is very concerned about customer satisfaction! And that is a big plus! I received the light before the expected time. It is my first light and I am using it for succulents. In reality I expected more intensity. But when compared to other lights this one is by far the best quality and intensity for the money! The weight of the light is mostly the ballast. But even then, it is very light. It comes with very easy adjustable attachements and I had it up and running in 5 minutes. At its full intensity the light ballast gets somewhat hot, but not enough to burn your skin. Even still, I would suggest Mars and the user to put more of a heat sink to lengthen the life of the light. Over all I am very pleased with this purchase and I would encourage anybody to spend the little extra money for this light. I gave the light 5 stars, but 4 on heat just to encourage them to improve it even more.

Small tent light
So far it's what I expected. Got in a 2'6" by 2'6" tent and I would say perfect for that but no larger. With a properly set up tent environment is easy to control. I use on full power in veg, all 140 watts. Price is right that's for sure. Great for seedlings because you have so much control. I have a small solar setup and the entire tent and all accessories run off of it that I think is kinda fun. The light is very bright for 140 watts and does not kill solar batteries. I set to 9000 Lux for seedlings and 40,000 lux in full veg and all that in between. Plants look great can't tell difference between larger grow setup. I have 500ah bank and on a good day I'll get 40 Amps from 3 panels, as long as there is sun batteries never drop below 60%. I add this because electricity maybe real expensive pretty soon. I could alway throw a little auto flower in there for the head. If the light lasts for as long as they say or close can't complain. Good quality over all. A little light like this with a dimmer is very cool.
