Exactly What I Needed
I am so thankful for this remote. My fast forward button on the one that came with my TV stopped working, which was very annoying. I tried three different universal remotes and couldn't get any of them to work. It was only like they half worked and wouldn't control everything. But as soon as I put the batteries in this remote, it worked perfectly. And not having to match codes or anything to get it to work was awesome.

Perfect Remote
I was given a Sylvania TV with DVD player built in. The remote had been lost. Figured I wouldn't need a remote since this was just a basement TV to keep me company while I did stuff and the built in channel buttons would be ok. I forgot about scanning set up. Couldn't get it to scan with the buttons on the TV so I went to look up a manual and found I could get a remote. Ordered it and in two days it was here. Put in two AAA batteries hit the set up scanning and in less than 15 minutes TV works. Remote is great. Best $10.00 every spent.

Perfect!
I was given a TV with a remote that only worked for the built-in DVD, and not all of those buttons worked either. I took a chance on this, and immediately the TV turned on. All of the buttons work. It works great!

Works great except... but, maybe that's just the TV
This remote is perfect for everything except turning the TV on, where it has to be pointed at a specific spot on the TV. Once the TV is on, directionally accurate pointing is no longer necessary for any function, including turning the TV off. Possibly the TV's fault but the DirecTV remote does not have this flaw. So, four stars instead of five. But what a a great cost/performance ratio!
