Greenlee 868 Screw Anchor Expander for Caulking Anchor Size 1/4-20

Pound for pound, this may be the most expensive tool I own. That being said, I think this is a must-have tool when installing hurricane shutters using sidewalk bolts and anchors. If you can tolerate the idea of spending 10 times more for a tool that actually works, then this is for you. The tubes shaped tools you buy at the big box store are junk and you can end up with crooked mounts that end up cross threading when you try to install the bolt. After drilling out and replacing a couple of these botched installs, or having to resort to using a tap to rethread a couple of ruined anchors, you will appreciate the value in having the proper tool instead. This tool will allow mounting even if the hole has blown through and has no back side. Amuse and impress your friends at parties when you ask them what this thing is used for. No instructions provided. Hammer and twist as you go keeping the tool snug against the work surface. You are welcome!

If you mount heavy stuff on hollow block walls this is a must have tool. This thing only does one thing but it does that one thing very very well. It's a little bit costly but when you need it you will understand why you spent the money. I own 3 different sizes of this tool

So for anyone who has ever had to try and set a lead anchor in a block, brick, concrete, etc. and you do not have this tool you have probably decided lead anchors are no good. I am here to tell you, that you are wrong. Lead anchors are ansolutely awesome, if you have this tool. This allows you to set the anchor in whatever material you are in without the fear of it pulling out. It is uper easy to use. The are made of all metal parts, so they are very tough. They are expensive. However, if you watch them on Amazon they will have them on sale from time to time. When they do buy three of them. Lead anchors are very cheap compared to a wedge, sleeve, etc. so this tool will pay for itself. Buy this tool you will not regret it.

I can't say enough about how this totally improved the quality and functionality of my anchor installation. It keeps working and working as well as it did the very first time I used it, and I've put in nearly 150 lead anchors so far! Worth every penny for the peace of mind!

As a Steamfitter, I would see the electricians on the jobsite use these and they were kind enough to let me try it out. WOW!, If you have ever used the Greenlee 84305(the set tool that comes with a box of anchors) you know that sometimes you can't seem to get the anchors to "set" perfect every time, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to use in a hollow wall. With this, you drill your hole, screw(not just loosely place) your anchor right on this baby, set it in the hole and hit it with a hammer a few good times and the anchor is set perfectly square to the hole and FLUSH. Amazing when using it on cinder block walls, Just be sure you drill a nice clean hole and not blow through making it too fragile. I bought the 3/8" because I can get scrap pieces of rod easy, but I will probably get the #10 next. It will outlast me.
