Astonished and delighted with the quality - 4 purchased 6 to follow
Frankly, the previous review, by Researcher, is puzzling.Definitely LED products came a long way. These 9watt LED bulbs I just purchased are great products.Mr. Researcher's description of his lamp as producing "yellow and blue hues around the edges" is not at all what our experience has been. From all LED bulbs purchased so far these high power 9Watt led bulbs have the best brightness output, with a clean soft white color and a uniform beam spread.I was astonished and delighted when I tested them. They are brighter than the 50 watt halogen lamps they replaced. They are also noticeably whiter than the halogen bulbs.I am also impressed with the esthetic appearance and very good workmanship, it looks like a really refined product. They may seem a little expensive, however it was getting expensive to keep replacing the halogens bulbs that were burning out way too quickly, plus these LEDS only use a fraction of the energy. I also like the fact that they are most environmentally friendly among all lighting products (without the mercury that CFL energy saving bulbs have).

Excellet brightness, great way to go green and save some money
I bought 4 of those to replace 4x 60W halogen bulbs in my kitchen's recess lighting.1) Those are the only PAR16 flood bulbs I can find with enough brightness.2) It's rated at half the brightness of the halogen bulbs, however I only noticed a slight decrease in actual use vs the halogens. My kitchen is still very bright, does not feel dim at all. No issues3) The lighting color is a cooler(whiter) orange compare to the halogen which has a very orange hue. Some may not like it, but I find it to be a more natural and relaxing lighting than the bright orange.4) The bulbs are high quality. So i am able to go from 240W to 36W without sacrificing much brightness or instant-on. That's a win in my book.

I had originally ordered these bulbs three years ago for one room. Based on our satisfaction, I ordered these bulbs for another room. The specs, box, etc., for the new bulbs are the same as the old ones, except the new bulbs are at least a quarter inch taller and are sticking out of the fixture. I had the original bulbs on a dimmer and they would dim alright. Except they would not turn off completely. Not a problem. Because the bulbs are not supposed be dimmable and I could turn them off by manually moving the dimmer switch to the off position.I have the new bulbs on the same model Lutron dimmer; however, they flicker continuously. We have not been able to use the new bulbs. Obviously the innards of the old bulbs and the new bulbs are different too. I have not replaced the dimmer with a regular switch, but I'll be contacting the supplier.

Good product, but with one shortcoming
This PAR16 LED lamp produces a pleasant (for me) 6000K white light that is quite bright. It is narrower but a little longer (perhaps 1/8 inch) than a comparable halogen PAR16 and may be unsuitable for some decorator fixtures where it would protrude. It is sold as non-dimmable, and I am using it in a conventional switched circuit. HOWEVER, I did try it out in a lamp fixture controlled by a non-dimmer electronic timer-switch that makes use of a minimal trickle current to keep clock working even when the lamp is off. In this fixture the LED lamp flickered brightly and uncontrollably at 60 Hz even when the switch was off. So not at all suitable for this kind of circuit.

Good replacement light
The light quality is only a little whiter than halogen, not as bad as what others have indicated. There is a slight delay (about 1 sec) after turning on the switch before the light comes on, but otherwise performance is good. I have 5 of these, and all have the delay, so it must be how the electronics are designed. The dimmable version (about $3 more) doesn't have the delay, so if the delay is going to bother you, you might want to spend a bit more for the dimmable version.Update: When I asked the vendor about the delay, they would like to take bulbs back for testing (they are not supposed to have a delay) and offered to exchange.

switching to conserve
I want to conserve energy expense, switched from halogen to led. These were the almost perfect replacement. Not as roofline as I would like but perfect for the non food prep areas.

Bright light, too tall
The light is white when compared side by side with existing halogen light but adequately soft. Very bright, as bright a s 60 W halogen par16. bulb is longer than my 2.75in par16 halogen making it protrude out of eyeball recessed ceiling fixture allowing light to bleed through finestrated sides of bulb. Check that this bulb is not too long for your application.

fantastic!
Just the right color temp for glass display (3000K), and nice and bright! I was worried about possible lack of brightness, but these are great! Going now to buy more!
