Interesting discussion on emission control modifications. It discourages it but improved street or track performance is gone over thoroughly. I would have liked more information on engine performance/driveability if individual components failed for an extended period. (Some are no longer available or hard to find.) Long story short: TAB/TAD removal results in shortened catalytic converter life. EGR removal causes "ping". I liked the book and will keep it as long as I have my 1989 F250.

This book will help in understanding different systems and sensors on eec 4 systems. This can aide in troubleshooting various problems you might face.

This book is by far the most detailed EFI book I've ever seen. It tells you everything you ever wanted to know about EEC-IV, from a stock point of view. The high performance suggestions are very outdated, and pretty slim. And there isn't any real tuning information in there, from a dyno tuners point of view. But this book is just jam packed with all the info on design and troubleshooting you will ever need. It's a terribly slow read, very detailed, very thorough. Makes you work for every page. Just what I was looking for. If you own an EEC-IV vehicle, and want to know how the EFI works, this is the book for you. Buy it!

Terrific Reference to the fundamental issues behind modern gasoline engines as deployed in US Production Vehicles. Covers the principals, the sensors and troubleshooting "the system". It covers the WHY the crazy parts are there, the HOW they work and WHY they might not be working together the way they should. It tells all about each little part and how to check them out, one at a time. It tells how to adjust whatever can and should be adjusted. It provides a guide to remedial measures that one should perform to ensure it is all put back right again. What else did you want to know ?
