For the price, looks good and is sturdy
For the price point it is a good sturdy product. Takes a bit of time to assemble. Fit my needs well and looks good. A few pieces were broken when arrived but don’t blame company for that. Delivery company was horrible. Set up time with me then didn’t show up and didn’t call. When they finally did come a few days later, box was crunched bout didn’t appear to have damaged product until opened everything and found the sliders for files in pieces. Didn’t plan to hang files in drawer, so worked out ok. Truck tore up my yard when leaving left huge ruts. Drove thru yard when there was plenty of room to turn in driveway. Estes of Fort Worth was the delivery company- so beware of that.

It takes time to assemble, but easy to do
I just finished assembling the Sauder L-Desk Steel River Collection (model 423976) desk. It’s not in my nature to write reviews, but as someone who has spent my entire adult life assembling furniture for my homes and my daughter’s homes, I felt compelled to write one now. There are many steps involved in this build, let’s say 30 or so depending how you define a step. While this may seem daunting, it isn’t. This is due to three reasons:1. The instruction manual is very clearly written and illustrated—nothing extra, but nothing missing either.2. All of the parts to be assembled are clearly labeled with stickers and the hardware with numbered bags.3. Everything fit together perfectly. The manual also offered encouragement and had a good sense of humor, which I appreciated. For example, “Rome wasn’t built in a day, but this desk can be.” It really was a pleasure to have everything laid out so clearly and concisely.I did make one mistake, but that was because I was careless and didn’t look at one picture closely enough. Also, they don’t give you any extra screws or bolts, so don’t drop any of them down a floor vent (yep, I did this, but a magnet on a string saved the day). The only thing left over at the end is one L-wrench.As for the desk itself, it was just what we were looking for and is very attractive and solid. I highly recommend this product and this company, which I have no connection too. I’m just someone who has suffered though countless poorly written assembly manuals and want to reinforce the time this company took to write theirs. This will take a number of hours to do, so be sure to budget your time wisely.

Nice sturdy desk
I love this desk. It looks nice in the office and gives me plenty of working space. It took several hours to put together, but the directions were well written and easy to follow.

Very solid desk!
It took a while to put it together but the instructions were easy to follow and everything lined up as it should. It is a very solid desk and has the look to match. Very happy with this purchase.

Would recommend
Hard to assemble only due to a million pieces. If you take time and read directions it comes together but takes hours to complete. Appears sturdy and heavy once assembled. Exactly what I was looking for in my industrial farmhouse office

Great desk!
Really happy with this purchase! We used the optional assembly add-on and glad we did, it took the guy awhile! Seems like a great value for the price we paid and looks nice in my home office (which was originally our dining room and is right when you enter our house).

Perfect desk, easiest brand to assemble
Sauder makes their furniture insanely easy to put together. This was the easiest and cleanest piece of furniture I've assembled in over a decade. It was also the biggest, and most complex. This complex desk took me a couple hours total. I was alone. It's 123 lbs. 30 steps, 23 hardware pieces, 31 pieces. I had cask strength scotch. Still, only took about 2 hours all told. Looks great, too.I have two 27" monitors, one 24" monitor on the laid down PC tower, my work laptop, and still have plenty of space for paperwork and writing or leaving an Idiot's Guide open to reference.Plenty of leg room. The back keeps me from putting my feet on the wall. Drawers are very smooth. No popping that jerks or spills the 40 thumb drives around. It's made to look a bit worn and rough. The metal looks like wrought-iron. The wood looks like driftwood. No scratches or bent pieces. I made sure everything wasn't beat up when I put it together. Only my liver was damaged...Short disclaimer: I am mechanically inclined and can read/ follow instructions easily. If you ever built a Lego set, you can build a Sauder furniture piece.

Great desk, great company.
Love our new desk it’s perfect for my everyday workstation. I is as a little worried when a cam lock was missing especially after reading some of the previously written reviews but I was able to go to Sauders website and order the missing part. The book that came with the desk gave me all the information I needed as well as the part piece and less than a week later I had the replacement part.
