A mirror is a surface that reflects light in a way that preserves much of its original quality. This is different from other surfaces that simply scatter light in all directions. Mirrors are very useful for many purposes, including:
- Allowing us to see our reflection
- Helping us to see things that are behind us
- Redirecting light to create interesting effects
- magnifying objects
